Segments tab gives you a “helicopter view” of the market situation for specific groups of products. For each segment created, you can check:
- availability status of the selected groups of products at given competitors,
- percentage differences in prices relative to your product price or retailer prices for selected product groups,
- historical competitor behavior on selected groups of products.
Each user can create his/her own segments, and they will be visible only on his/her account.
You can select Segments tab in the navigation bar at the top of the application:
Note: this tab is an additional feature.
Adding new segment
Two conditions must be met to create a new segment:
- at least one product group has been created,
- products in groups have your price or the price of the competitors provided.
If both conditions are met, press “Add new segment” button in the top right corner of “Overview” window:
In the pop-up window you’ll need to:
- name a segment (1) - there are no restrictions when it comes to the name, but you can add phrases that will help you to identify this particular segment (e.g. group name, the name of the Product Manager responsible for this group of products, shop names);
- choose competitors (2) you want to observe in this segment. You can find a retailer you want to add to the segment, by either typing the name, or scrolling through the list. After you found the competitor, you can add him by clicking a mouse button on its name. Please keep in mind that there is a limit of 20 competitors;
- select product groups (3) you want to display in this particular segment (up to 15 groups). You can find a group by either typing its name or scrolling through the list. To add a group to the segment select its name;
- select the base price for calculating deviations from it (4). By default, the base price is your price. You can change this option by checking "✓" the box next to the "Use retailers price as a base" option;
- after adding all the necessary information, you’ll create a new segment by pressing the “Add” button (5).
Example with information filled in for a segment:
The newly created segment will appear on the list of active segments.

If you want to edit already created segment, click on the edit button (1):
If you want to remove the entire segment, click on the red “x” button next to the edit button (2).
If you want to add group or retailers to the segment, proceed exactly as it was explained in creating a new segment. If you want to remove a group or retailer, select the red “x” button near the name:
After editing the segment, press the “Save” button.

Each created segment has a “Cheapest offers” row comparing your prices to the prices of the cheapest offers. You can head to the article to learn more. As "Cheapest offers" we always include the cheapest offer at the time of downloading the data, which means that in the historical charts we will show the prices of the actually cheapest offer on a given day, even if it is a different offer every day.
